RESOURCES FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THE DATA CENTER

Data Centers consume a significant amount of energy and will continue to do so at an alarming rate. U.S. Data Centers are on course to consume up to 100 Billion kWh by 2011, an increase from an estimated 30 Billion kWh in 2000. Channel Performance is an active participant in Data Center Energy Efficiency efforts and views it as our responsibility to lead customers toward the most efficient solutions available.

From the US Department of Energy to PG&E to local Silicon Valley organizations there is a lot of information available to data center managers. Channel Performance recommends the following:

US Department of Energy (DOE) offers a complimentary DC Pro Software Tool Suite for diagnosing energy consumption in a data center and determining ways to save energy.
US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is finalizing ENERGY STAR rating model for data centers. Channel Performance is closely following this effort and is capable of advising customers on the development and what it means to their data center plans.
Channel Performance is an active participant in the PG&E Pacific Energy Center. We have advised our customers on PG&E rebates and incentives capturing up to 5% of project costs. During the planning stages of a project we will initiate rebate planning.
